Mrs. Lorene Brown Wantland, age 83 of Bowling Green passed away March 7, 2013, at Magnolia Village in Bowing Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 2pm with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery. She was co-owner of Wantlands Lad & Dad and Town & Country clothing stores in Franklin Ky where she and her late husband of over 55 years Billy Wantland called home. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Franklin. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Wilson and Eunice Jenkins Brown of Portland, Tenn. Survivors include: 3 Daughters- Gail Mayes and husband Tommy of Franklin, Patricia Mers and husband Andy of Bowling Green, Lynn Finn and husband David of Franklin, 1 Son- Gary Wantland and wife Karen of Bowling Green, 2 Sisters- Marie Eden of Smyrna, Tenn, Bonnie Williams of Portland, Tenn., 7 Grandchildren who knew her as Mama Rene- Tommy Mayes and wife Angie of Franklin, Chad Mayes and wife Stephanie of Bedford, Ky, Shane Mers and wife Kristi of Bowling Green, Michael Finn and wife Sara of Hendersonville, Tenn, Tina Warren and husband Charles of East Robertson, Tenn, Josh Mers of Lexington, Ky, and Travis Wantland and wife Jenny of Louisville, Ky. 10 Great Grandchildren- Jared Mayes, Justin Mayes, Daisy Mayes, Skylar Mayes, Mehalia Mayes, Zach Mers, Shelby Mers, Emily Finn, Allison Finn, and Mya Warren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association. The family has requested that friends call Crafton Funeral Home Saturday 3pm until 8pm and after 6am Sunday.
