Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home - Harlingen Obituary

Lorenzo A. (L.A.) Guzman, age 85, of Harlingen, Texas went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 2, 1935 in Brownsville, Texas to Lauro Jose and Fidela Leal Guzman.


L.A. was a lifetime resident of Harlingen and owned and operated Valley Bookkeeping Service. He was a diehard fan of the Harlingen South Hawks and Harlingen High School Cardinals.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Lauro and Fidela Guzman; and son, Larry Guzman.


L.A. leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his loving wife of 63 years, Beatrice Guzman; children, Norma Elia Guzman, Amanda Ponce (Robert); and Eddie Guzman (Melanie); 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.


Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021, from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a prayer service of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm at Trinity Funeral Chapel of the Holy Spirit.


Chapel Service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 10:00 am at Trinity Funeral Chapel of the Holy Spirit. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in La Feria.


Honored to serve as pallbearers are Aaron Villafranca, Devin Villafranca, Eric Villafranca, Jared Guzman, Ryann Guzman, and Bryce Guzman.

Going to miss seeing this fine man at the Whataburger. I’m a retired police officer now but I used to see him and Cruz come in on weekends to have their morning coffee between 2:30-3:00 A.M. I worked security on the side and looked forward to seeing those 2 characters walk in and order their biscuits and coffee. Mr. Guaman would always give Cruz his cookie to take home to his wife. We covered all kinds of conversations during those meetings and pretty had solved the country’s problems by the...

Mrs Guzman, Norma, Amanda and Eddie, please accept our deepest condonlences on the loss of this great man. He was a true provider who always took care of his famly. Amanda, since we were very young I remember your dad as being happy and full of life. Everytime I saw him in later years he always greated me with a hug and smile and always asked me "how is my other daughter".
