He was born on December 16, 1955 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Margarita and Isidoro Nevarez. Larry worked for Old El Paso for many years as a commercial truck driver where he earned an award for reaching 821,247 miles.  After working at Old El Paso, he pursued a college degree and retired from NASA after 26 years where he worked as a Depo Systems Technician.  During his time at NASA he worked on rocket engines and had the opportunity to work on the space shuttle in Florida.  Because of his illness, Larry retired in 2020.  Larry was a righteous man and he loved the Lord. He loved fishing, camping, riding his motorcycle, welding, racing, listening to music and spending time with his family, friends and brothers in Christ.  Larry loved going for long rides in the country and anywhere else the road would take him. Larry also had a love for anything that had an engine.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Nevarez, two sons Isaiah Nevarez and Greg Fernandez (Devin), and one daughter Krystal Torres (Jamie), brother Gilbert Nevarez, sisters Rosemary Ziehl and Eloisa Gutierrez, and several nieces and nephews.

Not sure what to say?

Alice, Isaiah and Nevarez Family, our sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved Husband, Dad, Brother and Grandfather. May God give you all strength and comfort during this most difficult time. Larry was a good person. May your precious memories bring you comfort. God Bless you all.

Rosie, Gilbert and Eloisa- We were all part of the Bellamah Kids in our baby boomer neighborhood growing up in those years when you could play in the streets and ride your bike till the street lights came on. Will always remember when Lawrence ran across the street to help my Mom and Dad. He was such a good person and neighbor. God bless you all.
