Some of my earliest memories were of Loretta driving all of us to school and everywhere else, our families were very close after we met way back at Fre-Way Little league. My parents Joe & Barbara were close friends with Loretta and Stan, and I remember many summer days swimming with the Nelson kids and hanging out in the neighborhood. This is a relationship that has lasted for almost 50 years with my family and our business and is ongoing today. I really did not see Loretta much in the last few years and that is my regret but I did often speak with her on the phone and she always treated me great, always positive & upbeat. I will miss her and always have wonderful memories. Thank you for everything Loretta. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and my good friend Dave Bentley

Growing up on our street, Loretta was one of our neighborhood "moms". Pretty and petite, she was always there with a big smile and helping hand. I'll always remember her as the shuttle driver for our two families on those summer trips to the "horseshoe" i.e. Redondo Beach Pier. First thing in the morning she would have a minimum of 10 kids piled in her van and drop us off at 9am and then coming back at 3 to gather us all back up. She would do anything for us kids and to me that made her a rock star..she's a star now in heaven with all the other beloved neighborhood "moms"..shine on Loretta! you will be missed!

Dearest Loretta,
I miss you more than words can say. Your strength and perseverance have been an inspiration. You made us, or at least me, believe that this was just a temporary roadblock that you needed to go through and that you would get through it and everything would be fine. You were always there with words of comfort and strength. Your heart of gold and warm and comforting spirit will be with me always. All my Love, Sherry

My aunt Loretta was in my life as a young child. When my uncle died unexpectedly when I was 13, We really didn't see each other much anymore.
I found my Nelson family on Facebook a few years ago and reunited with Aunt Loretta.
So happy I did. One of my favorite recent memories is Aunt Loretta lending me her Hunger Games nook books!
I know we here on earth will miss her but I KNOW our heavenly family is rejoicing that she has come home.
