Loretta (Magers) Butler, age 85 of Elwood died October 3, 2005 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood after a brief illness. She was born on March 2, 1920 in Elwood, Indiana. She was a Homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood, Mix and Fix Homemaker’s Club, and the Lilly Creek Friendship Club. She was a 1939 graduate of Elwood High School.

Suriviors include: 3 Children – Richard “Dick” and wife Jamie Butler of Indianapolis, Patricia and husband Allan Holman of St. Joe and Donavon and wife Bev Butler of Huntington Beach, CA; Sister – Patricia and husband Bill O’Brien of Johnston, RI; 2 Brothers – Frank and wife Lonnie Magers of Indianapolis and Mick and wife Bev Magers of Whispering Pines, NC; 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her - parents – Francis and Anna (Grosenstroyer) Magers; Husband who died on February 3, 1978 – Ronald L. Butler; 3 Sisters – Eve Magers, Gertrude Magers and Ann Place; Brother – William Magers.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 6, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood with Father Paul Cochran officiating. Burial will take place in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Madison County 4-H Fair Association through the funeral home.
