Loretta "Lori" Nichols Demapeles passed away on August 9, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was 47 years old. Born December 23, 1964 in Oakland, CA. She was a graduate of Pittsburg High School. A Legal Secretary, she worked for Burnham Brown for 18 years and most recently for the Berkeley City Attorney's Office. Her husband, Mario Demapeles, her parents, James and Rustica Nichols and brother-in-law, Paul Prado, preceded Lori, in death. She is survived by three children - Angelisa (JR), Anthony and Christopher and a granddaughter, Leila, her siblings Jim (Evette), George (Josie), Ed, Nora, Becky (Marvin), Frank (Annabelle), Cecelia (John), Rene and Angela. An active parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Pinole, Lori embodied the "Aloha Spirit" of joyful sharing and life energy. She was a graceful Hawaiian dancer and a hula sister of 'Ote'a~Keolaloa. Her favorite pastimes included family vacations to Hawaii, spending time with her "Chichers", children, and granddaughter. Lori was a true San Francisco Giants fan, a season ticket holder, and called the ballpark her home away from home. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend, Lori will always be remembered for her love to have BIG fun, her infectious laugh, her love for music and living life to the fullest. She was loved by many and will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 4pm with a vigil at 7pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 837 Tennent Ave., Pinole. Committal services following at St. Mary's Cemetery, Oakland.

My deepest condolences go out to the family. I had the pleasure of knowing Lori from Burnham Brown and I only have fond memories of her, she was such a kind person. I pray that knowing she was such a wonderful person who was loved by many, comforts you during this difficult time.
