GROVER, Loretta Ruth - Of Linden, age 86, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in Linden. Funeral service will be held 12 Noon Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Chaplain Goodman L. Cox officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2010. Those desiring may make contributions to the Andrew Cassady Diamond in the Rough Scholarship or Grace Hospice. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Loretta was born in Genesee Township, MI on July 9, 1924, the daughter of Adlore and Mary Louise LaRose. She was a lifelong resident of the Flint area. She married Lyle Grover on March 8, 1947. Mrs. Grover enjoyed cross country skiing, camping and traveling. She served in the US Navy during World War II. Surviving are husband, Lyle; four children, Michael and wife Brenda, Patricia and husband Russell Cassady, Kimberly and husband Arnaldo Ponce; Tamara and husband Kenneth Martlew; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother; three sisters.
