Loretta Penta

Loretta Penta, age 84, of Southington passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. Lori was born in New Britain to Adeline (Winowski) Penta and Louis Penta Sr. She resided in New Britain for 65 years before moving to Southington in 2005. Lori was employed by UConn Healthcare and retired in 1995. She was also a longtime parishioner of St. Jerome's Church in New Britain as well as being a member of AARP of Southington and the YMCA of New Britain. Lori was an avid fan of UConn Husky women's basketball and the Connecticut Sun basketball teams, and her beloved dog, Sadie. Lori is survived by her brother, Louis L. Penta Jr. and his wife Sandy, of Florida; nieces Deborah Hebert and husband Keith, of Newington, Cheryl Lavertu and husband Wayne, of Southington, and Karen Blanchet and husband Michael, of Vernon, and nephews Louis L. Penta III and his wife Laura, of Florida, and James Emonds, of Connecticut; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. Lori was preceded in death by her father Louis Penta Sr. and her mother Adeline (Winowski) Penta, her sisters Eileen Emonds and Lois Bator and brother-in-law Stanley Bator, as well as nephew Alan Bator and niece Leann Penta. A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral home prayer service will commence on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11:00am, officiated by Rev. John Granato. Friends and family are invited to gather in memory of Lori from 10:30 - 11:00am on Friday. Lori will be laid to rest in St Mary Cemetery, Stanley St, New Britain.
