Lori Lynn (Fox) Baker, 48, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away September 17, 2010, at The University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Lori was born January 5, 1962, in Lincoln, Neb., to Roger B. and Judy M. (Herman) Fox. Lori was a 1980 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. She furthered her education by receiving an Associate Degree and was also capped as a nurse from Iowa Western Community College. Lori was an administrative assistant in the legal profession.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Lori is survived by her daughters, Julia, Kelli and Lauren; mother, Judith Fox-Schwabauer and her husband, Lance; brother, Roger Fox and his wife, Terry; sisters, Lindsey and Libby; grandmother, Millie Herman.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, September 23, 2010, 10 a.m., at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, 3304 4th Avenue, with Father Dan Kirby officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service. Memorials to be directed to the family.

I am so saddened to hear about your loss. Lori and I shared a lot of wonderful memories in High School and the years to follow. Lori had one of those amazing, genuine, loving personalities and her smile would light up any room the moment she walked in. She was remarkable and a true and sincere friend. Words cannot express the sadness in all of our hearts with Lori's passing. She was like a shining star. If anyone was down or blue, she showed up and the world became a brighter place! My prayers go out to the entire family. I will miss her alot, but my comfort comes with the belief that God has bigger plans for her in Heaven and that he has taken away her pain.
