Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services Obituary

Lori Ann Waidelich, age 52, of Marshall died Sunday evening, September 22, 2013 from injuries she sustained in an automobile accident in Fredonia Township. Mrs. Waidelich was born on April 25, 1961 in Marshall, Michigan to Donald L. and Thelma Louise (Brannon) Eberhard. She was a lifelong resident of this area, attending Harper Creek Schools and was a graduate of Lakeview High School. She continued her education attending Kellogg Community College and earned her Associates Degree as a Medical Assistant. Lori had been employed as a Supervisor for the EPI Group in Battle Creek. On November 10, 1979, she married Mark Allen Waidelich in Marshall in a double ring ceremony at the Marshall Zion Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2012. Lori was a devoted wife and mother. Mark and Lori were inseparable and did everything together. A favorite pastime of theirs was camping, with destinations of Traverse City, Cadillac and Pontiac among their favorites. Lori held a special love for her grandchildren. Just the sight of them put a special sparkle in her eyes. She is remembered by her family as a hard worker that was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family. Lori and Mark spent many hours, working in her mother and father's back yard, cutting down trees, and creating a beautiful area. She is also remembered as an avid Detroit Lions Fan. She never missed a game on television or radio. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church and volunteered with the American Red Cross. When she was younger, she enjoyed bowling in the Battle Creek Leagues. Lori enjoyed gardening and had many beautiful flower gardens at her home. She is survived by a daughter, Kelli (Ryan Martin) Waidelich of Marshall; sons, Michael (Lindsey) Waidelich of Battle Creek, Andrew J. "A.J." Waidelich of Battle Creek, Chris Waidelich of Marshall and Kyle Waidelich of Marshall; 3 grandchildren, Dominick Martin, Tiernan Waidelich and Kira Waidelich; and her mother, Thelma L. Eberhard of Marshall. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Melinda (Ken) Lake of New Sharon, Iowa, Mark (Sherry) Eberhard of Battle Creek, Carla Fleming of Ceresco, Nanette (Bruce) Willbur of Battle Creek, Nina (Michael) Davis of Battle Creek, Gregg Eberhard of Battle Creek, Jill (Lynn) Newsome of Marshall; and a sister-in-law, Nicole Eberhard of Battle Creek. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home, Marshall. A funeral service to celebrate the gift of her life will be held 11 AM Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Croy of the Marshall Wesleyan Church officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark (2012) and her father, Donald L. Eberhard (2012). Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the American Red Cross. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.
