Lorraine DeVito

I have known Lorry since kindergarten at Wilson School in Rockville Center. We went through South Side High School and Buffalo State Teachers together. Friendship lasts longer than life, as memories live on. We have shared with each other almost our whole lives' experiences. May she rest in peace.

I worked with Lorry at the Herricks summer recreation program seven years ago. I will never forget her kindness and love for life itself. I often draw on her words. What an inspiration! She left an indelible mark on us all.

I was so sorry to hear of Lorry's passing and wish her family my condolences. Lorry was a wonderful teacher and colleague. She was my art teacher in Denton Avenue School and I will always remember her fondly. She was also my colleague in later years, and again, I became a pupil of hers, when she taught art courses for teachers. She was always instructive and very complementary to our creative attempts. She will be missed by decades of students and colleagues.
