She was born in Tomahawk, Wisconsin on April 16, 1925 to Ida and Harry Jacobsen. Lorraine was raised in Tomahawk and was a 1943 graduate of Tomahawk High School. She attended the Wausau Business College for one year. Lorraine was united in marriage in Merrill, Wisconsin on May 17, 1947 to Oliver Klug. The couple moved to Rhinelander where they raised their family.
Lorraine was employed at Montgomery Ward in Merrill for three years where she was the Credit Manager. She then was employed at Montgomery Ward in Rhinelander for thirteen years being employed as the Credit Manager from 1964 until 1977. In 1977 she served the city of Rhinelander until 1987 as the Assistant Treasurer and Comptroller.
Lorraine enjoyed reading, watching classic movies and working jigsaw puzzles. But most of all Lorraine loved her family and took great pride in their accomplishments. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughters and great-granddaughters.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister; Thelma Sullivan, husband; Oliver Klug, daughter-in-law; Corazon Klug and grandson; Stephen Klug Jr.
She is survived by her sons; Mike Klug and Steve Klug, daughter; Karen (Michael) Piehl, granddaughters; Erin (Zach) Lundmark, Megan Piehl, Ainsley (Geovanni Fierro) Klug and Zasu Klug, great-grandchildren; Rylee and Regan Lundmark and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation for Lorraine will take place on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Immediately following the visitation there will be a procession to Northland Memorial Park where the Committal Service will take place. Chaplain John Uhlarik will officiate.
Contributions in memory of Lorraine may be given to the family.
Lorraine’s children would like to thank Compassus Home Hospice, especially Emily Hans for the love, care and kindness you provided to our mom in her final days.
