Lorraine (Gallerani) Labun, 89, peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 3, 2015 with her family by her side. A lifelong resident of Agawam, MA, she was the loving wife of George Labun who passed away in March 2014 and the daughter of the late Arsenio and Emeline (Balboni) Gallerani. Lorraine will be greatly missed by her son, Robert George Labun and his wife, Kathleen (Nicora) Labun of Westfield, and three grandchildren, Douglas Robert Labun of New Hampshire, Nicole Kathleen Labun of New York, and Joseph Robert Labun of Virginia. Lorraine also leaves a brother and his wife, Edward and Irene Gallerani of Agawam, brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Marie (Grasso) Labun of Agawam, and sister-in-law, Mary (Kozikowski) Labun of Feeding Hills, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Vincent, Alfred, Arthur, and Lawrence Gallerani. Lorraine was a 1943 graduate of Agawam High School and attended night school at Western New England College. From 1951-1986, Lorraine owned and operated Edward’s Drug Store at O’Brien’s Corner in Agawam in partnership with her brothers. She will also be remembered for being the family tortellini maker and a social butterfly who always looked forward to chatting with old friends from the drug store days. Lorraine was a faith-filled Catholic who was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills and the former St. Anthony of Padua Church in Agawam where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Society as well as a lector and CCD teacher. She was a past member of the Victor Emmanuel Society and Polish American Club. The Labun Family extends a special thank you to the nurses and healthcare providers of Caring Solutions, Baystate Visiting Nurses & Hospice and the staff of Quail Run Estates for the loving care they gave to Lorraine over the last few months. The funeral will be on Saturday, February 7th from AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street, with a Mass in Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills at 10:00. Calling hours are Friday, February 6th from 4-8pm. The burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam on Monday, Feb. 9, 2015 at 10am.
