Dear Alonzo, daughters, mother, siblings, and other loved ones,

I, like so many others, feel that knowing Lorraine has been one of the most distinct privileges of my life. The pain of knowing that she is gone from us now is tempered only by the wonderful memories of her. Yes, she was a powerhouse of idealism and determination who delivered results, not rhetoric. My deepest condolences during this time. I had the pleasure of meeting Lorraine while serving as a member of the Arizona State Advisory Committee to the U S Commission on Civil Rights. What a lovely person she was.
