It's so strange how our lives are like a puzzle. You look at it after it is finished and then do you know how it was put together. STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Native Staten Islander Lorraine Scannella, 64, of Holmdel, N.J., a homemaker and registered nurse who was also a member of the popular music group, “The Shamettes,” died Sunday in Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, N.J., of cancer.

Born Lorraine Gennaro in Rosebank, she moved to New Springville in 1981 and settled in Holmdel in 1994.
