Not sure what to say?

I attended Camp Hawthorne in 1952-53. Lorraine Sheldon (known as "Buzz" to my parents) once dated my father, Jay Mills, in Brooklyn. She played piano for Sunday church services at the camp, and many of the hymns she played are the same ones I play and sing today. My favorite then was "The Church in the Wildwood," which Lorraine played often. Bob Mills

I should note I was also lucky to receive a painting from Lorraine for my wedding. It's called 'Rest Hour' and looks across the camp beach from the canoes to the point. It hangs above and to the right of my computer screen. Along with the painting Doug received for his wedding, it is scanned on our Camp Hawthorne (1950-1980) facebook page for all to admire! Fondly,

I am sorry to hear of Lorraine's passing. I fondly remember her from my 12 years at Camp Hawthorne. I have also enjoyed the oil painting of camp that Aunt Lorraine painted for my wedding 35 years ago. I will be thinking of her every time I look at it.

Lorraine made chapel sevice special. She was an important part of the Hawthorne family. When I had trouble falling asleep my mother would say dream about camp. It still works today.

Camp opened a door for all of us to life long friends and activities. We have your mom and dad to thank for that. Deepest sympathy.

Hawthorne, The Sheldons, memories of wonderful families, my deepest sympathy
for your loss.

Jack Serafin, Camp Hawthorne camper, many years ago.

sandy and Billy,
My heartfelf sympathy for you and your families...I was just on Long Island with my mother just last weekend and we were talking about Aunt Lorraine...
I still have a little oil painting she did for me when I got engaged...it is a beach scene and I have kept it by my kitchen window for 36+ years...such fond memories of the good old days of Garden City and Raymond, Maine!!! Love to you all, Patty Henning Cochran

Bill and Sandy....

My mom just called me about your mom. Condolances to you. I remember her fondly for all those years at camp and in Garden City..

Bill, Jane and I were so sorry to learn of the death of your mom. My mother called immediatley to let us know. I know she as well as many others will miss her at the Village. May God Bless you and your family in this time of greif.
