Lorraine Steffens-Dewald

Lorraine Steffens Dewald, 83, Bismarck, died June 19, 2012, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 25, at McCabe United Methodist Church, 1030 N 6th St, Bismarck, with Rev. Rick Fossum officiating. Burial will be held in the Robinson Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm Sunday, June 24, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Lorraine was born August 29, 1928, in Logan Co., ND, the daughter of John and Emma (Oberlander) Wolf. She was raised and educated in the Napoleon, ND. She married Harold G. Steffens on October 15, 1948. Lorraine worked for the State of California from 1948 until 1985, when she then moved to Jamestown. Lorraine married Helmuth Dewald on June 12, 1998, and moved to Bismarck. Lorraine is survived by her son, Jon G. Steffens, Bismarck; her grandson, Brett M. Steffens, Camas, WA; her sister, Violet (Earl) Heidt, Bismarck; her brothers, Elmer (Hattie) Wolf, Steele, Clarence (Arlene) Wolf, Robinson, and Albert (Vi) Wolf, Jamestown; step-daughter, Janet (Jeff) Andrews, Fergus Falls, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Harold A. Steffens; her husbands, Harold Steffens and Helmuth Dewald; her brothers, Clifford and Harvey Wolf; her sisters, Florence Schweitzer and Eileen Genzel; and her parents, John and Emma Wolf. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
