Lorraine Tilley

Lorraine Tilley, age 91, of Glenwood, had her prayers answered on Monday, December 5, 2011, to go home to be with her Lord and family. She was born on March 19, 1920, at Harrisburg, the daughter of Algie Congleton and Ida Logan Congleton. She joined in heaven her husband, Fred G. Tilley, whom she married on September 8, 1939; her parents; and her two sisters, Novel Condra and Katherine McHaffie. Tilley was a member of Amity United Methodist Church, a homemaker, nurse's aide and business owner. She enjoyed painting, quilting and was an avid gardener. She cherished her family and friends and was special to everyone who knew her. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Carol Tilley of Ashdown; one daughter and son-in-law, Bea and Phillip Sutton of Amity; six grandchildren and their spouses, Perry and Michelle Tilley of Amity, Dean and Lisa Sutton of Amity, Pam and Mark Foshee of Kirby, Dale and Joanna Sutton of Amity, Scott Tilley of Ashdown and Jimmy Sutton of Amity; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 8, 2011, in the Amity United Methodist Church with Rev. Glen Harris and Rev. Ralph Hemund officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
