     Mrs. Lorreen Edna Craddock Galt, age 74, a resident of Chocowinity, died Thursday, July 28, 2022, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital.


     Services will be held in Ithaca, NY in September.


     Mrs. Galt was born in London, England on October 19, 1947. She was the daughter of the late James Stuart Craddock and Violet Marjorie Giddings Craddock.


   On January 4, 1969, she married John Hugh Galt, who preceded her in death, October 26, 2009. She and her husband served as foster parents for many children over the years. Mrs. Galt was a member of the Washington Moose Lodge and in her spare time, she was an avid knitter and seamstress, loved playing cards and traveling.


    Mrs. Galt is survived by her daughter, Kathleen “Katie” Mosher of Chocowinity; son, Timothy “Tim” Galt, and wife Jill of Marriottsville, MD; four grandchildren, Brady Galt, Brianna Galt, Jasper Mosher, Hannah Mosher; three sisters, Joy Smith, Diane Hay, and Anita Barry all of England; and numerous nieces and nephews.


     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Galt was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Craddock and sister, Bonnie Griffin.


     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kiwanis Special Youth Fund, P.O. Box 2711, Washington, N.C. 27889.
