Not sure what to say?

My sincere sympathies to the Bloxham family. Both Luke and Leslie have been stable pillars of Downey's history and society for many years, and I appreciate them very much for their sincerely good and caring influence.

It is disheartening to see that "older" generation passing away, almost in droves. They had such a positive impact on the valley--an influence that has now spanned several generations. I hope those of us in the younger (but now rapidly advancing toward "older")...

Mr. Bloxham was a good decent man and an outstanding teacher. He could quote Aristotle, Shakespeare, Voltaire or Ogden Nash without breaking a beat. When he spoke of democracy and tell us it wasn't our rights but our duties that should be our first concern or recited Rudyard Kiplings 'Then You'll Be a Man My Son' the class was silenced. He was truly a treasure.

Mark and Family,
I too had Mr. Bloxham for a teacher in JR. High. I especially remember his laugh and he also had a story or two. Best to all of you at this time. Carol Henderson Porter

Mr. Bloxham when he was my teacher and Uncle Luke when he wasn't. What a wonderful man. As a teacher he always made me feel like I could accomplish anything and as a niece he made me feel loved and special. Always time to talk or tell stories, and make us laugh. He was the best example any one of us could have had. Best of all thing to Aunt Leslie,Jon,Mark and Sue. You should be proud of who you parents are and the fine adults that they helped you to become. I love you all lots Jackie...

Mr. Bloxham was my teacher in Jr. High. He was quite a guy! He knew how to reach the students in a personal way. He joked and teased and could be quite serious and stern. I think he taught us to not take our selves too seroiusly and to be forgiving of our mistakes and move on and do better. I saw Luke and Leslie during the fair this year. It was good to have a chance to say good-bye to an old friend and teacher. He was a great man and a great example.
