Becker Funeral Home, Inc. - Clermont Obituary

Louis “Lou” Cerone passed away peacefully at the age of 72 at his hospice home on March 1st, 2024, surrounded in his last days by many who loved and cared for him. Lou was born and raised in Chicago, IL. Living many of his adult years in the Chicago Suburbs.  He spent his last five years in Groveland, Florida surrounded by loving friends.

Lou is survived by his daughter Jessica (Anthony) Rizzuto, grandchildren Louie and Dominic, his brother Thomas (Judy) Cerone, his cousin and best friend Bob (Sue) Bilotti, cousin Theresa (James) Sansone and niece, nephews and cousins. Loved ones, Marisa Dady (Carson and Tinsley), Robert Croy IV (Sonny), Elizabeth Miller Kershner, Mary and Adrian Bustamante (Breanna and Allison), Brian Zerblas, and his lifelong friends Leo Di Domenico Jr and George Cutro, along with many other amazing friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank “Buddy” Cerone and Katherine “Kay” Neglia, beloved Grandmother Anne Cerone, Aunt and Uncle Marie Cerone Bilotti and Walter Bilotti, and loved ones Connie Charest and Tammy Croy.

From the time he was young, Lou had a love for life and a knack for getting into trouble.  He had nicknames for everyone and made you laugh til it hurt. He always had your back and was someone you’d go to war with. He loved growing up in the city of Chicago but also loved barefoot summers at his family home in Lake Geneva, WI.  Lou loved dogs, hunting with friends, and all things food; Cooking, trying and sharing new recipes with his family and friends, and watching cooking shows.

In his last two years of life, Lou fought pancreatic cancer like a warrior.  To help continue the fight against this disease, please consider making a donation in his honor to https://pancan.org

Not sure what to say?

I worked for Lou while he owned the bars and I loved that time. I always had his back and he always had mine. Lou was definitely the best. Some of my best conversations I’ve had in my life at 4am.

You will be missed my friend.

Luis was a great friend. Loved his pulled pork.

Lou was a man of great worth, he was loved by all of us each and everyday day. He will be missed by all of us deeply, but his love and kindness will always live on. Thank you for being the best Lou-tmis, rest easy love you so much.

Deepest sympathies from the Neglia family, is Aunt Leona and his cousins Tom Ross and Bruce. Nothing but loving memories

Missing you lots zippy, you fought hard and can finally rest love you.

Lu, everyone knew when you walked in the room. I’ll never forget the entire dictionary of new words I learned from you. Love you and miss you. Rest easy, keep an eye on us, we will always have you in our hearts.

Birthdays were always fun with ya Zip! If it was dinners at Maggiano´s or grilling by the pool. Love ya

Hello Jessica
I am very sorry for your loss. I am one of your Dads many cousins. We were very close as teenagers and actually in our early twenties. He was surely one of a kind . We had many laughs together. We talked over the holidays and I prayed for him throughout his battle. Sending you and your family my love and prayers ❤ Cousin Patti Cerone
