I only met Lou a few times, but he was a wonderful gentleman, and his book Homosexuality and Civilization was a triumph. Gene Bunge and I send our condolences to Luis.

I mourn the passing of a good friend in Lou Crompton. Lou also loved the opera and I was privileged to attend many with him and his husband Luis. My condolences to Luis. I missed Lou when he moved to California but at least I knew he was at the other end of a phone line. Thank you Lou, for all of your work with and for the LBGT community. You were a true pioneer.

Louis Crompton was one of my professors at UNL. He was kind and dignified. He brought enthusiasm to a class I didn't think I would like. I did like it because he made it so. Thank you, Mr. Crompton.
