Lou's "Lunch Bunch". Dec. 1, 2010

Lou referred to the four of us as his "Lunch Bunch". As retired TV graphic artists, we would often tell each other funny stories of the people we knew in the industry. We'd generally meet up for lunch in Manhattan at "Good Stuff" or "Hamburger Heaven". This particular snapshot was snapped on Dec. 1, 2010 at Good Stuff. Lou would often say to us that the afternoons we all spent together were his time to just enjoy life and leave all his cares behind. I miss you, my friend.

Cousin James and Maria Cuevas

It was through letters written to and from Louis with my father James Cuevas in 2002 that his daughter Caroline found in Lou's NYC apartment after he left us that I even knew I had a cousin in Lou and his family. I did not know cousin Lou but my father did and said he was one of the nicest cousins he had. My father spoke very highly of Lou saying that he loved it when Lou and his parents came to visit. After viewing the video and seeing his contributions to television, I wish I would have...

I only had the pleasure of meeting Lou one time during his last visit to CA to see Caroline, Albert and the family. I had heard so many wonderful things about him and still hear more and more -how he loved life, loved people and family and of his many talents and virtues. I wish I could have really gotten to know him personally. He had to have loved well to be so well-loved. We thank God for a life that touched so many.

We had the pleasure of knowing Lou and Cathy. Dinner with both was fun. Lou was a gracious person. We were lucky to have known Lou.

I had the pleasure of working with Lou at abc during the 1980's. He always had a joke to tell, a funny anecdote, or a kind word. He held to a spartan diet and would frequently vie with men half his age in athletic games of skill and endurance, ie, push ups, pull ups, broad jumps and holding one's breath. I thought Lou would live forever, and he will in our memories as a true individualist and a great friend.

A truly, lovely gentle man. He and I worked together when I was a fledgling PA for GMA. While we tussled with deadlines and capricious producers, he never lost his cool or sense of humor. He taught me many things -- not the least of which was honoring your calling and practicing your particular art. May he be at peace. Blessings to you all. ~

I worked with Lou for 17 years at ABC. We shared many laughs and interesting stories. Though I hadn't seen him in years, I thought of him often with fondness. Caroline, I remember when your Dad would bring you to work on his bicycle. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I had the good fortune to meet Lou only 6 years ago, but within that short period of time, we became fast friends. We'd meet up in Manhattan with 2 other retired TV artist friends, Dave Ubinas and Mike Collins almost every week to have lunch together and explore the city's museums and parks. He had a million stories and all of them were full of life. I feel blessed to have gotten to know him if only for 6 years and am heart-broken he won't be physically with us anymore. We all loved you,...

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.
