Not sure what to say?

Lou, You Were the greatest. Surely kept me straight all those years ! I´ll never forget the memories ! God bless and as you rest in Piece & know you did the work of saints in ALJ ! Billy Hering and also Brothers Jim & Randy (ALJ) too !

Mr. "D"!
A straight shooter!
A rare trait in todays educator!
One of a kind, and he will be missed!

So many tributes from so many people . . . what a difference Mr. DeRosa made in our lives.
If we're judged by what we build, then Mr. DeRosa's legacy is exceptional: He built people.
Don Carroll (Class of 1970)

My warmest thoughts of comfort I would like to send out to the DeRosa family. A man who truly cared about his students. I remember I was a senior when I had to have a "visit" with him (I talked during the Pledge of Allegiance and had never gotten in trouble before). Even though I was shaking full of fear (he new my sister very well a couple of years before well lets just say she visited him more than me) he just laughed and talked to me and said get out of my office now and have a nice...

My condolences and prayers to the DeRosa family.

If one was to look up the word disipline in the dictionary, Mr. DeRosa's picture would most certainly be there.

He kept us all in line with a no nonsense approach and a kind heart which wasn't an easy task. We are all thankful to have had such a great leader at ALJ. He will be missed and never forgotten.
God Bless.

Class of '82.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Mr. Lou DeRosa. My first thought when I heard was how sad it is that we don't have more principals like Mr. DeRosa today. I was a student at ALJ when he was there. He ruled with a firm hand and at the same time showed kindness when needed. He was an excellent example of what a leader should be. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Mr. DeRosa. He truly made attending ALJ a great high school experience. He will always be fondly remembered. Class of '72

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Mr. Lou DeRosa. After going to Catholic school for eight years, it was quite the experience to go to the public high school system. Meeting Mr. DeRosa and seeing the way he literally handled things and people was shocking to say the least. I was so afraid then for some of those kids, especially the boys. But now I realize how wonderful it would be if we had more teachers and principals like Mr. DeRosa. He was a strong, powerful...

When I think of Mr. DeRosa, a big smile always crosses my face. He was always sincere, compassionate, funny and yes, sometimes not so funny. He will be missed by many.
