Louis J. DiFiore, 62, of Costa Mesa, California, formerly of Attleboro, a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, died Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Royal Health Care Center in Santa Ana, CA.
Born in Attleboro on June 12, 1946, Louis was the only son of the late Louis J. and Lucielle A. (Audette) DiFiore. He was raised in Attleboro and North Attleboro. Mr. DiFiore was a graduate of North Attleboro High School.
Following high school, Mr. DiFiore joined the United States Air Force. Louis honorably served four years in the service, serving overseas in Turkey and Vietnam. Among other duties in the service Mr. DiFiore trained dogs for use in the field.
Following life in the service, Louis worked as a Produce Manager starting out at the former Fernandes Supermarket in Attleboro, moving on to Florida and finally, until retirement, at Ralph’s Supermarket in CA.
Mr. DiFiore retired in April 2008 from Ralph’s Supermarket to live a lifelong dream of fishing and golfing. Being an avid golfer, Louis always bragged about the hole-in-one he made.
Mr. DiFiore is survived by a daughter: Brittany Patch-DiFiore of Costa Mesa, CA; a son: Tobias Sharp-DiFiore and his wife Angel of Las Vegas, NV; and a sister: Sandra Varrieur and her husband Peter of Attleboro. Louis is also survived by grandsons, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many cousins. He also leaves a long-time friend Sharon Patch.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 10 AM in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Towne Street, Attleboro Falls followed by military honors conducted by the U.S. Air Force recognizing Mr. DiFiore’s honorable service during the Vietnam War. Funeral arrangements are under the assistance of the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. Sandy I am so sorry for the lost of your brother. If I had know earlier I would have been there for you. I am really sorry. I feel so bad. If there is anything I can do please let me know. Even if it is just a cup of coffee. (We haven't done that in a while.) My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.
