Not sure what to say?

On Monday, April 15, and Tuesday, April 16, 2024, I attended the PHHP Days Academic Gala at UF´s College of Public Health and Health Professions. In my discussions with faculty, of course Lou´s name came up. He was a titan, and his Memory is still honored with such affection and respect. I am certain he would have been so proud to have seen all the progress. The college has made. He is universally loved, and missed.

Dear Jane, Evelyn and I were so saddened to learn of the passing of Lou 5 years ago. We enjoyed your visits to Rochester, MN, to teach our residents and fellows. We remember our dinners with you and Lou so fondly. Lou gave me a solid foundation in Finance when he taught in Madison, WI. I remember his brilliant teaching and the twinkle in his eye. The thought of Dr. Gapenski brings a warm smile. Jim and Evelyn

Dr. Gapenski taught me so much about healthcare finance. After 25 years, I am still using that information in my work. He was a great teacher and leader in his field.

Dr. Gapenski,
You taught us health finance that remains critically important now, after 15 years of your class. You will be missed.

Dear Jane,

It is with great sadness that we learn that Lou passed away. We have so many fond memories spent with you and Lou. Please know that he touched so many lives in his many years of teaching our residents and fellows at Mayo Clinic. His legacy will endure.

Deepest condolences from all of us,

Dr. Jim and Evelyn Hernandez

You will be missed. I know you have found rest and peace in the arms of God.

Dr. Lou,

It was an absolute privilege to know and work alongside you, and I pray that you rest in peace.

Dr. Gapenski was truly a gentleman and a scholar and will be sorely missed. My prayers are with his wife Jane.

Thank you, Dr. Gapenski. I have used your textbooks on Healthcare Finance to educate many young men and women in healthcare administration. May the Good Lord bless and keep you in His Bossom.
