Not sure what to say?

When John and I got caught doing something Mr. Grubb didn´t approve of, he had his say about the problem always in the soft tone. No anger, no raised voice but certainly that look of disapproval on his face. I always felt a lesson was in there somewhere. Today: Little late,I know but when looking to see if John was still around. Mr, Grubbs obit came up. I knew him from being Johns friend. The different obits were spot on about his life and character. Dan And Nancy were were just experiencing...

I bought my first used car from Lou Grubb back in 1975 ( a 1970 Chevy Impala), right out of high school (Central High School) in Phoenix, and attended same school with his son, Dan. Lou was an icon here in Phoenix for decades and will be fondly remembered by thousands of Phoenix residents.

My mother, Etheleen Mosey, worked with Lou back in the early 60's at Rudolph Chevrolet. She always spoke highly of him to us kids, but we never got to meet him. Our condolences.

I came to Phoenix in 1962 as a 20 year-old kid from Iowa, and I fondly remember those gentle, Rudolf Chevrolet commercials voiced by Lou on my morning commute to Motorola's Scottsdale military division. He was like a Dad talking to his children on how to be good people...and buying a Chevrolet of course!

My father Jay L. Rhoades worked for Lou, Jay did Tune Up and Electrical.

My folk knew Lou when he worked at the Westward Ho, and my mother was a housekeeper there (a LONG time ago!). He'd sometime read the homilies at our church (Most Holy Trinity), and I was thrilled that a Real Celebrity came to our church! It's been a long time since I lived in Phoenix, but Lou was a good part of it.

I was so glad to work for Lou and Dan in Poway They taught me many great attributes of life and business.
I will be always grateful for the Grubbs and their examples.
I am sorry this is so many years after, I just saw this doing research.

I remember Steve Forbes declaring, "When I'm elected, I'm going to the White House in a Lou Grubb Ford!!" A great guy, a guy's-guy. GREAT Arizonanan and Phoenician, and role-model for jerks like me.
