Thank you for your kindness twenty five years ago. You were a true gentleman who will be missed by all. Thank you for letting me work at the bar for a brief summer or two. My condolences to the family.

Heineman Family, Lou was a true friend and a patriarch of the Ohio Wine Industry. We always looked forward to our visits with him while enjoying his award-winning Pink Catawba wine.
Lou often stopped by the OSU Research Center in Wooster to visit and talk about our enology and viticulture research. He was a strong supporter of our program and always provided encouragement.
Please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of Lou. He will be sincerely missed.

Over the past fifteen years or more I had the honor of visiting Louie just about every week and listening to his wonderful stories of growing up on Put-In-Bay. Of all the stories he shared with me the most memorable was when he confided with me about the last moments he was with his wife Barbara ("the most beautiful girl in the world") He was with her at the Care Center on her last day in this world. Louie was a real thoughtful man. I remember the time he drove my wife and me to the boat dock to catch the last boat due to the inclement weather.
He'll certainly be missed. May he rest in peace.

Always a joy to visit with Louie at the winery. Enjoyed his snippets of island history. Any story or memory ended with a good laugh by all. What an ambassador for the island and what a supporter of anything island related. Will miss him. The Bay just won't be the same.

He will be missed, but Louis' spirit will forever live at the winery and around the island.

Louis made the winery what it is. He will be very much missed. I just got done reading a book about the Put In Bay road races, and darned if Louis wasn't mentioned multiple times. My wife and I would like to send our condolences. Place won't be quite the same.
