Louis Johnson Jr., a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend, was born on May 4, 1962, to Louis, Sr. and Vera Johnson. On May 13, 2025, Louis peacefully gained his angel wings, surrounded by the unwavering love and presence of his wife and children of whom he called “His Circle.”
At a young age, Louis gave his life to Christ at Emma Zion Baptist Church in Melville, Louisiana. As he grew in his faith, he later became an active and dedicated member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church, where he worshipped faithfully and shared his vibrant spirit through the church choir.
Louis attended Melville High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1980. Gifted with a natural talent for working with his hands, he had a passion for building and fixing things, which led him to hold various roles in the construction and moving industries. In 2020, he found great joy and fulfillment working for Fantastic Moves, where he served as the lead man. Louis took immense pride in his work, ensuring tasks were completed with excellence and that every customer received top-tier service. His dedication and work ethic earned him numerous accolades and awards, reflecting his commitment to serving others with integrity and care.
Louis met the love of his life, Regina Edwards, in 1992 through his sister, Clara Ann Johnson. It was no surprise that two people with such big hearts and lively spirits would instantly connect. From this beautiful union, Louis gained a beloved bonus daughter, and together they welcomed a son and daughter of their own. On September 24, 2010, Louis and Regina solidified their bond in marriage. Their shared love for Christ and deep rooted faith served as the foundation of their relationship. They enjoyed cheering for opposing teams during basketball and football games, making sport nights lively and fun. Their shared love for adventure often led them on road trips to Louisiana and Oklahoma, where the car rides were filled with music, laughter, and joyful moments. Louis and Regina shared a deep love for music and never missed a chance to sing and dance together, filling their home with joy and laughter. Through their unwavering bond, they set a powerful example for their children and grandchildren, showing that true love can endure and stand the test of time. More than best friends, Louis and Regina were truly soulmates.
Louis was a free spirit—a loving, giving man whose presence lit up every room he entered. Known for his wisdom, he offered sound advice and was intentional with the love he gave, making sure everyone around him felt seen and valued. He carried great pride in his role as the eldest sibling, embracing the responsibility of being the big brother and protector of his family. Louis adored his siblings, nieces, and nephews and was always just a phone call away when they needed him.
Louis never met a stranger; he treated everyone with kindness and respect, welcoming all with open arms. The whole neighborhood knew Louis and enjoyed their conversations—he had a way of making people feel like family, whether they had known him for years or just met him on the porch. He had a ferocious appetite for a good home-cooked meal and a heart even bigger than his plate. In his pastime, Louis Johnson enjoyed watching sports, catching up on CNN news, and relaxing to old western movies—simple joys that brought him peace and comfort.
A devoted grandfather, Louis cherished spending quality time with his grandkids—patient, generous, and full of joy in their presence. On weekends, you could always find him in the stands at a family sporting event, cheering loudly and proudly, his signature encouragement echoing in the air: “Get out there for the one time!”
Louis Johnson Jr. lived a life of purpose, generosity, and love, always putting others before himself. His presence brought warmth and strength to everyone around him. To know him was to be blessed by his unwavering loyalty, his infectious laughter, and his belief in God. As we remember his life, we find comfort in the words of 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
Louis’s faith never wavered, and his life was a true testament to God’s grace. He has now entered into eternal rest, welcomed by the Father with the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Louis Johnson Jr. was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Vera and Louis Johnson Sr., as well as his cherished siblings, Charles Johnson (Karen Johnson) and Clara Ann Willis (Anthony Willis).
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Regina Johnson of Texas; his children, Lawanda and Bruce Goudeau of Louisiana, Shontaye Edwards (Carlos Thomas), Louis Johnson III (Temple Stokes), and Keeana Johnson, all of Texas.
He is also survived by his loving siblings: Darlene Oliver (James Oliver) of California, Gerald Johnson (Tabatha Johnson) of Missouri, Carolyn Johnson, and Charlene Johnson of Texas.
He will be remembered fondly by his mother-in-law, Patricia Edwards and brother-in-law, Milton Edwards of Texas, along with a host of adoring nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
He blessed us on Earth, and now he shines as one of God’s angels in Heaven.
Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

Louis, I will never forget you you were the life of the party. I remember one time we went to go to corral and you told them people it was your birthday. You got on top of the chair and started dancing. We all busted out laughing. You will definitely be missed
