Not sure what to say?

Arrived at McDonogh from little Calvert School in September,1944 to be greeted by the leader of the school;and a great leader he was. We watched our grandsons compete on the athletic fields of "that other school" so I know how proud he was of Gordy--and his Dad, Bryan; both a wonderful testimony to the axiom "acorns don't fall far from the tree".We'll miss Lou in many ways.--Bo Moore

To the Koerber Family:
I knew Lou as a neighbor growing up in Homeland. He was always very encouraging to me as a fellow official and McDonogh alum. Remember all that he did with you and for you, and he will live in your heart forever.
Tom Young

Working at McDonogh in the Alumni Office provided me with the opportunity to get to know Lou quite well. He defined the word gentleman. He will be greatly missed.
John Sieverts

I first met Lou when I was working as a Chemist/Technical Representative at the old O’Brien plant – on East Biddle Street – in the mid-60s. Later we saw each other after I went to work at the National Paint and Coatings Association in D.C. in the early ‘70s.

After I relocated to Canada, to manage the Canadian paint association, I still saw Lou nearly every year after that at the Hopkins’ homecoming lacrosse games. He was always fast to, not only say “hello” – in his usual...

I knew and worked with Lou in his role as a member of the Board of Trustees of Church Home and Hospital. He was a man of strong character, a true gentleman, and I have great respect for his efforts to honor our flag with the Pause for the Pledge. We need more men like Lou. He will be missed, but he will be remembered. William L. Opfer Jr,. (retired, former Vice President, Church Home and Hospital).

My relationship with Lou was as a student at McDonogh. He was a great leader then and continued his entire life, When he asked me to help at the Foundation, it was a great pleasure for me to accept. He will be missed by many.

Lou was a role model as a McDonogh alum and the creator of "Pause for the Pledge"as the symbol of what patriotism is all about. I am sure that they are all saluting you "up there" , Lou

Thanks Lou! I'm a better man, cause I knew you!

The entire Policay Family of Virginia Beach is saddened by the news of Lou's passing. Lou and the entire staff of Budeke's taught me the paint business back in the early 80's. He was a man that was dedicated to both his family and his business as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with and for the entire Koerber family.
