Louis G. Malevitis of Oak Brook, Illinois died on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. He was 92 years old. Louis was born on March 21, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Sophia and Constantine Malevitis. He graduated from the Plato Greek School, Austin High School and DePaul University, where he earned a degree in marketing and management. He served as an intelligence officer with the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. Louis was a vice president at Marshall Field & Company, where he worked from 1957 to 1987, before retiring to pursue a second career as a realtor with Coldwell Banker in Oak Brook.

A devoted Greek Orthodox Christian, Louis was invested as an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, an honor and leadership role bestowed on only 20 members of the church each year globally, in 1996. He was a member of Leadership 100, a philanthropic organization that seeks to strengthen and advance the cause of Orthodoxy and Hellenism in America. He was a lifelong member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, serving from altar boy to parish council president, with many impactful roles at every level of his parish in between. He was a loyal giver of time, talent and treasure to his church and community, a faithful leader and dedicated humanitarian with a record of selfless service to others.

Louis was an adored brother, uncle and godfather to his sister Marion (Malevitis) Gouvis; his niece Angela (Gouvis) Collins and her husband Bill Collins; his late niece Karen (Gouvis) Goldrick and her husband Jack Goldrick; his grand-niece Lisa (Collins) Shaddock, her husband Andrew Shaddock and daughter Sophia Shaddock; his grand-niece Katherine Goldrick; his grand-niece Stephanie (Collins) Caven, her husband Andrew Caven and son Henry Caven; and his grand-niece Stacy Goldrick.
