Not sure what to say?

Thank you Steve and Shala, for your most recent post. I still miss him too, every single day. This week at this time of year is a tough one. July 23 - August 5 (Dad's birthday and wake) is always a time for reflecting and remembering. 17 years later, the edges are softer, and I have more smiles than tears. But my own boys are 12 and 16 now, and how I wish they could have met! Can you imagine how he would have loved them? I know he loves them, even now. Thanks for remembering, and missing him...

Still miss him.

Dr. Martin continues to live in our hearts. Steve and Shala Carter

How can it be 15 years? God bless him.

We still miss him. God be with you. Steve and Shala Carter

When I asked Louis what he thought about the current idea that there was not just one Big Bang, but possibly several, he wrote the following: "...[That] has to be wrong, because it fails the weariness test...Wade through all this crap again? Nope!"

He then went on to the BIG question: "Does the universe, all told, still need a spiritual infinite cause - unlimited esse?"

His cautious conclusion: "It still seems to have a certain cogency to it."

I wish he could talk to us...

Jane -
I was truly shocked to hear of this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go with you and your family.

Mr. Martin was one of the most outstanding of the outstanding young Jesuit Scholastics we had as teachers at Campion High School in 1955. Even though he had left the Order and gone on to have a family, become a psychiatrist, he chose to attend our 15 year high school reunion. One of my cherished memories is having had an extended dinner time conversation with him. It was wonderful.

My prayers of support to the family. Eternal rest, peace, life, light and joy grant to Louis, O Lord, and may he pray for us.
God Bless. Father Paul Otting, Campion class of 1953
