Louis Mauro

To the Mauro family. I remember Lou, growing up as a kid. He was so cool.
I would go to Mike Monico's barbershop
for a haircut in the 60's, where Lou was
working. We were so poor, Lou even gave
me his used clothing. But to me, his clothes
were better than my rags.
Every so often, I would visit his shop in
downtown Wilmington, just stay in touch.
He always greeted me a big smile and warm welcome. I was sadden to learn of his
passing.

He always remembered and cared about his family. He called me recently and we had another great talk. During that time, he shared his approval and endorsement of my partner, Paul. It was as though he were a "medium" for his brother Joe (my father). It was very comforting and meant a lot to me.
