Spinelli - Ricciuti Funeral Home - Ansonia Obituary

ANSONIA: Louis A. “Junior” Mazerolle Jr., age 84, entered eternal rest on March 25, 2024, in the comfort of his home, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of sixty years to Eileen C. Sweet Mazerolle.

Lou was born in Drummond, New Brunswick, Canada on July 18, 1939, son of the late Louis and Rose-Monde Blanchette Mazerolle. He came to the United States at the age of 16. Lou was a self-employed skilled carpenter and the owner and operator of Louis Carpentry and Remodeling. He was a true outdoorsman who especially loved fishing and hunting in Canada. Lou enjoyed gardening and trips to the casino. He was a member of the St. Sebastian Club in Ansonia where he liked playing cards with his friends. Lou was a huge fan of horse racing and best friends with Ron Turcotte, the legendary jockey of Secretariat, a champion American thoroughbred racehorse. He was also a fan of NASCAR. Lou will be missed dearly.

In addition to his wife Eileen, Lou leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Randy S. Mazerolle (Stephanie) of Jacksonville, FL, sister, Jacqueline Hahlen of Ohio, grandchildren, Madison B. Mazerolle, and Jared S. Mazerolle both of Jacksonville, FL, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Rodney J. Mazerolle, brothers, Frank, Bertin, Morel, Ivan and Jack Mazerolle and sisters, Grace Banville, Ita Bourgoin and Rosemarie Poitras.
