Not sure what to say?

Jan and family,

I was sorry to hear of your loss. May the many good memories help you through these times.

My husband, Warren, often helped with aspects of your campaigns and always enjoyed his associations with both of you.

Our prayers are with you.

Pat (Knutson) Erington

I have happy memories of chats with Dutch at TV-5, but especially in winter when I recall some advice he gave me about how to keep your feet warm on cold ground. He told me he learned in Korea that canvas sneakers, tied loosely, were better for circulation in your feet and by George, he was right. His stories were fun and I liked him very much. I was returning from vacation yesterday and didn't hear the news until last night. I'm so sorry about his illness and passing.

Jan,

Bob and I are so sorry to learn of your loss. We were attending an out-of-town wedding or certainly would have attended the service. Please know our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Dear Jan:
After hearing the sad news, I thumbed through some photo albums from my Barn Theatre days where I met you and Dutch, and my mood was lightened by several pictures of you both. The best is one of you and Dutch dancing at the "Barney" awards, looking so, so happy (and VERY good looking). Dutch emcee'd the Barneys at least once and of course was charming. I produced all the early ones and he was extremely helpful more than I can say.

I've been in San Diego the last...

For Mrs. Meyers, I never really knew you, as I was up & gone from Johnson Co. by the time you made a name for yourself. But not only did I grow up in Prairie Village, I grew up at the old Barn Players Theatre. I was privileged to "play" with Dutch in "Laura" back in '65 or such. Our paths continued to cross there 'til I moved onto my own radio (and later TV news) career at various points across the country. Ironically, I ended up in Davenport, Ia. working for Lee Marts! Both he &...

Jan and famiy,
I have so many unique and wonderful memories of Dutch from the years I worked with him at KCMO-TV. I was new to the business and he was a mentor. He always had time for and a answer to my questions. There was always a story to tell that help me make it through some tough days. He wil greatly be missed.
My thoughts are with you and may your years of memories help bring some peace at this time

Jan and family, We were all saddened by the passing of "Dutch". He was such a great man to work with at KCTV-5. I enjoyed being around him so much because he always took an interest in whatever I was doing. He took time to talk to me and anyone else whom he met in the halls, studio, or wherever. He had a great life and did so much good. I know my brother Steeter feels the same way as he always had such good things to say about "Dutch" God bless you and your family at this time and rest...

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Jan, I have so many fond memories of Dutch through our many years of working together when he was at Channel 5. Always a gentleman with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed. Marian Shear
