Not sure what to say?

I knew Lou since fall 1970, when I entered as a "rat" or freshman at VMI and he was an upperclassman. Leader, athlete, role model for service and integrity even then, he acknowledged me, or "took me in" as a fellow Alabama student. The last time I saw him was at a VMI alumni function in Birmingham in the mid-1990's. I had always looked forward to catching up with him some day. What a loss. What a good man he was.

Lou saved my father's life many times. He never failed to bring a smile to his face even through his final days. His love and devotion to his patients will never be forgotten. Lou touched us all in so many ways. He is already greatly missed.

"May his memory be eternal."
I will miss your infectious sense of humor, your warm smile, your compassion and your swagger. You were an amazing doctor and you always took such good care of me. I miss you dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. God Bless you.

I could not believe it when I heard the news about Dr. Pappas passing. He saved my life. I will always love him.

College Basketball will never be the same without my Dear Friend,...

I had the privilege of spending a week shadowing Dr. Lou Pappas. The respect, compassion, and empathy he showed to his patients was truly inspiring. He told me that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. That statement will stick with me throughout my career. Rest in peace.

when I heard of the news,i was just beside myself and I could'nt believe it.I knew that I had a good doctor and I was going to miss him dearly.I bragged on dr. pappas to everyone,I could'nt have had a finer docter than him. My prayers goes out to the family.

Jazzy Pappas, that was the code word my sister and I used when our Mom was his patient. We only had the pleasure of knowing this fine man and Doctor since January of this year. I was so shocked to learn of his passing. He will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. God only takes those he needs. My deepest sympathy.

Many people may come and go into our lives but God gave you to me as a great physcian and friend that no one can take the place of. You were so special to so many. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and your staff. Till we meet again,my dear friend!
