My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am so sorry, so sorry for this tragedy to have happened to you and your father. Lou was a great guy and I remember only having fun with him when we met him at the end of our SLIS trip together. He's obviously impacted a lot of lives and you are known by both the company you keep and the memories they keep of you. And he was your father, so that speaks well of him also.
Love, Clinton Lowery

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. We knew you through my sister Susie Birkeland, you two were such great friends. We remember with such comfort and gratitude, how you called her, sent her cards, and came out to San Francisco, when she was living her last days. You brought her such joy and peace! And, we got to know you too, and enjoy your bear hugs, smiles, Texas-size stories, and warm hospitality. One of the kindness and most interesting people we ever had the honor...

Lou and I also shared a cab when he lived on Hancock, and even though we hadn't seen each other in years, we somehow kept in touch. His out-of-the-blue calls just to catch up meant more than words can express. Lord, keep and bless this good man.

In your last e-mail to me, after me calling you "Mr. Perryman" several times you told me "Don, you can call me Blue, or you can call me Lou" to this day I think of this and smile. I never got to meet you face to face, but will cherish our chats forever.
God Bless you and your family, friends and fans.
We love ya Lou!
