Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Lou Scarci,s passing on 10/31. I was a colleague of his at Mt. Lebanon H.S. for many years, and I was assigned to assist Lou with the marching band and Rockettes for his last year with the band. He was always one of my favorite people on the faculty; he was a man of impressive musical skill, esp. as a clarinetist, and this side of his talents went largely unnoticed at the school. Lou was a soft-spoken, kind man with a wonderful understated sense of humor. I enjoyed working...

I also forgot to add my name...Kevin Scrivo, Pittsburgh, PA area.

Mr. Scarci was a kind soul. He will be missed. I think of him often. I will always remember his cheerful greeting in the hall at Mellon Jr. High.

Sorry, I forgot to add my name. I am John Whittington of Pittsburgh,Pa

Hi Lou jr - Out of town as well, just learned of Mr. Scarci's passing. My heartfelt condolences to your family. I moved to Mt. Lebanon in 1967. The greatest clarinet player Mt. Lebanon ever produced was a guy named Louis Scarci jr...... I studied clarinet with your father for two years. A great guy! We will all miss him.

My deepest sympathy on the passing of Mr. Scarci. He was a kind, patient and valued educator.

I join the thousands of "kids" touched by the patience, kindness & talents of dear Mr. Scarci. He taught me how to play the flute and piccolo. What a lovely man! My thoughts are with you.

I'm yet another of Mr Scarci's flute students from Howe in Mt Lebanon (circa 1961-1964) and even took private lessons from him after 6th grade.
I'm sorry to hear of your family's loss.

I, too, was one of Mr. Scarci's flute students in Mt. Lebanon in the '60s. He had the patience of a saint to put up with me and my lack of musical ability. However, I can read music and enjoy concerts, both of which I credit to Mr. Scarci. I am sorry for your loss. As a teacher, his was a life to celebrate.
