Uncle Lou, as he was known to me and the rest of the Mandel Clan, will be greatly missed. Just as Jack welcomed Josh and me into his family with incredible warmth and openness, so, too, did all of Jack's friends and extended family. Uncle Lou was no exception in that regard, but was amazingly exceptional in the love and support he showed to me, Josh, David and Ben throughout the years we knew him. One of my fondest memories of Lou is when he and Jack Mandel were present at my swearing- in ceremony for my U.S citizenship in Phoenix in 1964; the two men presented me with a 14k charm with the Statue of Liberty on it.We were good Bridge partners and Lou was always calm when our bids didn't go the way they should have.After many years we were in touch again and I will always remember him with lo

Thank you Lou for sharing yourself and family with me. You were always a pleasure to be around and I looked forward each week to seeing you and Gene. So many years I was blessed with your compassion and consideration for my familys welfare. Thank you for the jobs you conjoured up to keep us fed and the laughter we shared. Lou was a true friend and wonderful human being. No higher position in this life exists and to fill it, as Lou did, well, is beyond verbalization for me. He was a personal role model and he leaves me with a vast, silent sense of humility.

Robbie and I feel deeply honored to have known this man.
