My deepest condolences to Mrs. Schwartz and the Schwartz family.

I remember Mr. Schwartz from Christ the King, but more so from North Chevy Chase pool. I can’t guess at how many times he arrived for or departed after an afternoon swim as I was collecting membership cards at the front desk. He was always polite, and he had a personal style that struck me as pretty cool - I remember him in a white tee shirt, wearing a cross around his neck. Rest In Peace Mr. Schwartz.

My sincere condolences to all the Schwartz family and Lou's friends. I knew Lou from his service as the cook for Peacemeal. He was a faithful volunteer. But more important than the actual task of putting together a meal for 200 homeless guests each week - Lou was a friend to all. He encouraged us and led by example. He was always generous with everyone. When I think of Lou I remember the quote of St. Francis - "Preach the gospel always, when necessary - use words." Rest in peace, Lou. I will...

Many wonderful memories for many, many years of him and the family and loved talking with ‘Mr. Schwartz’ (never could call him by his first name) every time I’d see him on the block or at church. Will dearly miss him.
