Age 72, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Karen Beth (Hannum) Swidowski; loving father of Louis Gene (Angela) Swidowski and Ashley Lauren (Justin) Swidowski; cherished grandfather of Logan and Jaxon Swidowski; dear brother of Nina Lawniczak; son of the late Gene Louis and Rosella Lucy (Nardozi) Swidowski.


Louis was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 13, 1953. He grew up to be an avid fan of Elvis Presley, history and film. A talented artist known for his craftsmanship as a commercial painter, Louis had an unparalleled attention to detail and pride in both his work and his children. His hobbies included fishing, socializing with the community, spending time with his family and beloved pet cat, Lisa Marie (Presley).


Lou's charm, his compassion and willingness to help a friend in need will never be forgotten. 


Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Blessing Service on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.

I have fond memories of Lou and his great sense of humor.

I'm sorry to hear about Louis. I knew Louie when we were children about the same age living on the same block (Mellon St. and Negley Ave). We had a few adventures together. My deepest condolences to his family.
