Louisa Pierson

Born to Ann and Darby Brown on November 15, 1934 in Seattle. She attended Holy Names Academy and Forest Ridge where she graduated from high school.

Louisa earned Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Nursing from the University of Washington in 1957 specializing in Maternal and Child Health. She worked at the UW Medical Center before joining the nursing faculty at Seattle University.

Louisa married her husband of 54 years, William E. Pierson, MD in June 1957. She followed him to medical school spending time in Chicago and Bremerton before settling back in Seattle's Bryant and Laurelhurst neighborhoods, spending summers at Sandy Point on Whidbey Island. Louisa and her husband spent time in Inchon, Korea in 1962 fulfilling a promise to deliver medical services and training at Star of the Sea orphanage.

Louisa volunteered with many organizations including Gamma Phi Beta, St. Gerard Guild and St. Bridget's Church. Louisa served as President of the Sunset Club, Chairman of the Board for Guide Publishing and as an International Officer of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.

Louisa was widowed in 2011. Two brothers, Ned and Darby and children Bill, Jr., Marnee, Christie, Frank and Tom survive her. Louisa also enjoyed her eight grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be Monday,
November 23rd at 10:30 AM at
St. Bridget Church
