Louise Ann Burros (ne Blackburn), aged 84, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on December 8, 2025, in Las Cruces, NM. She was known for her fierce, unconditional love and playful, unfiltered sense of humor. Louise enjoyed every aspect of nature and loved animals. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and memories of her can be found in autumn leaves falling, wildflowers blooming, clouds passing by, and birds chirping in her beloved pine trees.
She was born November 3, 1941, in Los Angeles, CA, and grew up with her loving parents and five brothers, all of whom have proceeded her in death. She lived in California until her 20s. When what she thought was just passing through, she fell in love with New Mexico and made the enchanted state her forever home. Over the years, she lived in Deming, Albuquerque, Ruidoso, and Las Cruces. She had a variety of occupations as a factory worker, bartender, waitress, nurses’ aide, and school cafeteria worker, finding friends and humor with people she met along the way.
Louise was a loving, dedicated mother, mother-in-law, grandma, and great grandma. She was a very hard worker, always ensuring a love-filled home for herself and her only daughter, Wendie Guaderrama (ne Burros).
She is also survived by her son-in-law Ruben Guaderrama, and grandchildren Lacy Levine (Anthony) and Justin Guaderrama (Savanna), as well as two precious great-granddaughters Fiona and Maya.
A special thanks to the staff at Calibre Post Acute and Ambercare Hospice for their kindness and care.
Services are pending for a small, private family memorial.
