LOUISE EPPS

EPPS, Louise Rebecca, 99, of 1019 Epps-Martin Rd., Roxboro, N.C., died Sunday, August 18, 2013. Born in Person County, Mrs. Epps was the daughter of the late William Algie and Amelia Martin Stuart. She was married to the late Zan Epps Jr. for 57 years. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Helen Jeanette Epps, and four infants; her sister, Josie Stuart Epps; her brother, David Stuart; and her great-grandson, Daniel Herlong. Mrs. Epps was a homemaker and the oldest member of the Sappony Indian Tribe and Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a former member of the WMU. Mrs. Epps is survived by seven children, Roby Epps and wife, Emily, of Roxboro, N.C., David Epps and wife, Lorraine, of Richmond, Va., Janice Lewis and Ronald Epps, both of Roxboro, N.C., Donald Epps and wife, Bertha, of North Chesterfield, Va., Julian "Mike" Epps of Roxboro, N.C., and Jimmy Epps of High Point; her sister-in-law, Lois E. Jones of Roxboro, N.C.; eleven grandchildren, Marie Herlong, Patricia Epps, Buddy Paschall, Shelia Lewis, Brent Epps Jr., Wendell Epps, Wendy Duprey, Shannon Epps, Daniel Epps, Katie Epps, and Sara Wolford; 11 great-grandchildren, Nick Herlong, Megan Donovan, Cathy Leigh Paschall, Zach Lewis, Jordan Lewis, Timothy Oakes, Hannah Epps, Hailey Epps, Colin Epps, Sophia Epps and Mia Theresa Epps-Duprey; and five special great-great-grandchildren, Cami Hunter Lewis, Tara "BoBo" Olivia Carver, Abby Donovan, Ava Evans and Malachi Epps. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Jimmy Pulliam and the Rev. Robin Dunn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son, Mike, 1019 Epps-Martin Rd. Pallbearers will be Wendell Epps, Brent Epps, Zach Lewis, Jordan Lewis, Timothy Oakes, Buddy Paschall, Nick Herlong and Joel Duprey. Honorary pallbearers will be Erket Stewart, Lindsey Martin, O.C. Martin, Luther Talley, Delton Stewart and John Martin Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2663 High Plains Rd., Roxboro, N.C. 27574.
