I am just now hearing of the loss of a very dear friend. We first met when I was her student at the New School, studying both early child development and then adolescence. My daughter was an adolescent at the time, and it was during that period that she wrote her book on adolescence. Many years went by and then to my great surprise, we both ended up together in a tap class with Savion Glover. We shared this love and many great times would follow with dinners talking about both...

So sorry for your loss. Enjoyed your mom's company in her early years as my mother Lottie's friend and in later years as my father Elmer's companion.

All that is now left are the memories; so vivid and comforting.Walks in the Village, dinners at our place or on 13th st, discussions of politics and psychoanalysis, her being a Jewish mother and castigating me for my smoking and weight, that bottle of Jameson's she always had ready when I visited,reading unpublished manuscripts on her experiences with Mahler,talking about our kids and grandchildren etc. While relocating to Jersey and then Florida diminished our contacts, Louise still stands...
