Louise Rann Rosenblum

Louise´s bright light will always be with us; whenever I would see her walking outside enjoying the great outdoors or at a restaurant she would always smile brilliantly at me. My Mother and Father will always have great admiration for Louise. I was very saddened by this news and reading about her life was very enlightening to me. I was always able to feel Louis´s love of life and everything around her, SHE HAD AN AMAZING SPIRIT and I know she will deeply be missed by me and my family.

In memory, with great appreciation for the warmth and kindnesses -- and tolerances -- shown to a homesick boy from Honolulu, at Reed College, in 1968; you opened your door, and, once, unintentionally, a window, and brought joy in a chilly season. Greetings, respects, and condolences to your children, and special aloha to Laura. Sometimes a cheerful word can last a lifetime in the heart of another.

My thoughts are with you all in this difficult and disorienting time, and I hope to be with you in spirit tomorrow. I have so many happy memories of times in the houses on Orrington and also in Portland, and all are made vivid by images of Louise's strength, warmth, and kindness. (Louise was one of the few who knew me long enough to call me "Eddie".)
