Louise M. Roy, 84, of County Street, Attleboro, an office clerk and beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at home. She was the loving wife of sixty-four years of Leo T. Roy.
Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on January 14, 1920, Mrs. Roy was a daughter of the late Emile and Irene (Raymond) Hetu.
Mrs. Roy was educated in Central Falls and Attleboro schools and was a graduate of Attleboro High School, class of 1938.
Mrs. Roy was employed for many years as a clerk at Craft, Inc. of South Attleboro, a small metal stamping company owned by her husband, Leo.
An avid golfer, Mrs. Roy was a forty year member of the Pawtucket Country Club. She was a communicant of St. Stephen’s Church in Attleboro and a lifelong resident of Attleboro. Louise and her husband, Leo, celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this past June 22nd. Mrs. Roy enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Roy is survived by two sons: Raymond G. Roy of Halifax, MA and Armand E. and his wife Sharlene F. Roy of Attleboro; two daughters: Claire J. and her husband Dr. David Constantine, DMD of New Bedford and Janet R. Sutherland of Port Charlotte, FL; two sisters: Theresa Chartier of CA and Ida Roy of Attleboro; a cousin: Sr. Jeannette Roy of the Daughters of Charity of Manchester, NH; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Roy was the grandmother of the late Lisa Sutherland who died in 1997 and sister of the late Normand Hetu, Ernest Hetu, Robert Hetu, Jeannette Gravel and Yvonne Mayhew.
At the request of the family, visiting hours are respectfully omitted and funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to: Hospice, CVNA, 141 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro.
