Louise Self

Miss Self was the sweetest! She was always so pleasant to visit with and there wasn't ever a time she didn't ask me "so how is the family" or tell me "now don't work to hard". She is a true example of why I do what I do each and every day. She has truly had an impact on me and I will carry this on while I do my work here. Miss Self was a true blessing to me and someone so special will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Miss Self.

This kind lady was such a big part of my growing up years; a member of the science "family" at Abilene High School, she always had a smile and an eye-twinkle for a little girl awed by her quiet intelligence. Her dry wit could just bowl you over, and I chuckle now at the memory of some of the legendary happenings during annual science fair time. The world was a better place with her in it; she leaves a legacy of former students who owe much of their knowledge of life to her, whether they knew...
