Not sure what to say?

Seeing this post about Lowell´s passing reminds me of the hundreds of times his name has come up in conversations with friends and fellow soldiers every time we return to Fayetteville. Lowell was truly an exceptional soldier and mentor to hundreds. I hope people also remember that the complex out at Mott Lake, the birthplace of SWAT (SOT) in this country, was the brain child of Lowell Stevens. Special Operations would not be what it is today without the expertise provided by Lowell and the...

America has lost another of its Professionals in Lowell.
May he Rest in Peace with his fellow Warriors
John R. Fryer

I am sorry to hear of MSG Stevens passing. I had the honor to serve with him with the 1st SFG and on the Scuba Detachment as a 1st Lt. He taught me a lot and both of us being from WV we had a lot in common. May his soul rest in peace Capt. C. M. Gearing

Lowell was one of my mentors as a young SF Sergeant 1969/1970 in the Mike Force Recon, Pleiku and Kontum. Without his mentoring, his dedication to duty, his willingness to share experience, his professional guide, I would not be here today. Bless you Lowell Stevens for your service and unselfish sharing. Stand-downs were a hoot with Lowell and took the edge off what the missions we were both on took from us physically and mentally. A true patriot. I only got one chance in all the years to see...

Lowell-I am sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I remember how you were always so proud of him as a man, a Soldier and as your Dad. Of the 40+ years I've been around the Army, few I have known are of the caliber of your Father. Please convey my family's condolences to your entire family.

So sorry to hear of his passing .We were first cousins. Our birthdays were exactly one month apart. Our mothers traveled by train, to visit his father during the war.We used to see him at his sisters home in Ohio once a year. The entire family was so proud of him.I remember him building a log cabin at a very young age.He was very smart at his age.Out thoughts and prayers are for the family.

Lowell was so excited to meet my mom June Tice in 2003 when my mom, myself and my two sisters and spouses went to Camp Mackall to revisit the camp that my mom saw at age 16 when it was dedicated to my uncle Thomas Mackall. He was so kind and made all of us feel so welcomed. I'm so glad we got to know him and I know he will be missed in ways that words can not express. My thoughts and prayer go out to you and your family. Frank and Janet (Tice) Kulow. Wadsworth, Ohio

Emiko, America has lost one her great soldiers and patriots...I am so sorry for your loss.

Lowell was of immeasurable influence on me as a young officer when he was my Team Sergeant in the 2d Bn, 1st SFGA.

Lowell was “the American story. He was best of us in his best moments. While not a politically correct man, but, as a team member, he was the man you wanted on point and your rear…he was a superb soldier.

Lowell, may you rest in peace and God bless...

I will deeply miss listening to my friend tell amazing stories of everyday Soldiers. He was so proud of his association with these veterans and his efforts to preserve thier stories.
