Lowen Tribute 24 years ago, when I came to Portland from Mexico, Lowen gave me a warm welcome at the EMO HIV Day Center. One year after becoming a client at the Day Center, I was still looking for work. Rudy, who reported to Lowen, asked Lowen if I could become an employee there, and Lowen said yes. I was an HIV Social Worker, and knew Löwen through his work at EMO/the Day Center. He touched many lives and gave comfort and hope to folks who hadn´t had much of either. Rest easy, old friend. You were a mensch.
